What does rattles do?

Skills developed : Auditory According to eHow.com, "Exposing your baby to noise, like shaking rattles, will help him to develop coordination between his sense of sight and hearing as he begins to turn toward the noises that he hears." A s he holds a rattle and waves his hands he will hear the noise and start to make a connection between his moving hand and the rattle; he's learning that if you can hear something you can probably see it too. HOW TO DO IT?   While your baby is lying on his back, hold a small rattle in front of his face and shake it gently. Move it to one side and shake it again, and then do the same on the other side. Your baby won't yet able to track it with his eyes, but he will notice the change in location, and it'll certainly get your baby's attention. Note: Try not to make it too loud - it might be scary for him Source : www.babycenter.com Read more: How to Stimulate a Newborn's Sense of Hearing | eHow.com http
