Experince: Typhoon Ondoy
Saturday, September 26, 2009 - It has been raining non stop for almost 24 hours already. I went outside to go to my grandmother's house, I saw the flood has been rising in our place every minute. We need to put all our staff upstairs. At around 11:00am the water is on our waist and the rain still pouring heavily. Our neighbors are getting panic without food to eat because our kitchen is flooded we decided to evacuate the place before it's too late. My uncle's girlfriend was stranded in Marikina River Bank because of the flood in Marikina River. We are worried because as what my uncle's girlfriend said the second floor of ICT has been occupied by the flood they don't have electricity and food to eat.
With my husband, grandmother, uncle and my 3 nephews, go directly to the flood without any hesistation just to get out of the place. The water is so cold and dirty but all I need to think is we need to survive. After a kilometer to walk we reach our car and go directly to my uncles house at the mindanao avenue. But it is not easy because the road are block with cars because of the flood that is in front. There are few Vans and trucks that can go straight to the flood but small cars can't.
We need to find a safe route to get to my uncle's house. Thank God we reach the place at around 5:00PM. My uncle's girlfriend still stranded in Marikina they need rescue because all the windows in their office are now broken by the flood. All the water are getting inside of their office with all the computers and without any food to eat. They are 300+ employees stranded in the ICT. Can't go out and don't know what to do. We just need to pray for their safety.
Now the rain has stop but we have need to stay to my uncles house because the flood on our place has not subside
