History of Simbang Gabi

Simbang Gabi or " Misa del Gallo"  been part of Filipino Tradition for years. Where Misa came from spanish word means mass, and Gallo means rooster. Misa del Gallo usually translated as the Rooster Mass. Usually family and friends are going to church early morning starting 4:00AM at December 16 up to the day of Christmas Eve. There are rumors that when you completed the nine day mass you can wish to God and your wish will be granted. Simbang Gabi originated way back 1660 in early Christinity. In the early Christianity friars are so strict in attending the mass. They know who doesn't attend the mass. So when Christmas is near the friars had problems with the farmers because they are using their work as a reason for not attending the mass. The Joyful Mysteries

(Mondays, Saturdays, & Sundays of Advent) I. The Announciation In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary (Luke 1:26-27) The angel said to her: "Mary, do not be afraid, you have won God's favor. Listen! You are conceive and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High". (Luke 1:31-32) Mary believed in the word of the angel, and she made this faith truly effective by a commitment, a complete gift of herself. ( Fr. Marie-Eugene of the Child Jesus) II. The Holy Rosary

The Holy Rosary is a very special prayer and a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.. Rosary  means rose-bush or bouquet/crown of roses. It tells us about Mary's life and life of Jesus. Every bead of the rosary we pray is a rose flowered offered to Blessed Virgin Mary. Every time we pray the rosary, we pray for peace. We also hope for what is good for our fellowmen and country. Each time we pray the rosary, we ask Blessed Virgin Mary to help us pray to Jesus for our needs.  It started in the Middle Ages and, since then, had undergone a considerable evolution. It consists of two complementary parts: Meditation or Reflection  on some important events ( "Mysteries" ) in the life of Jesus and Mary;  Recitation of a number of vocal prayers  (Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, and Fatima Prayer) Meditation on the "mysteries" and recitation of vocal prayers are not enough. Application to Life  is an indispensable component of the Rosary. Like all othe

People usually celebrate Christmas in different ways. Big company usually reserve their Christmas party at an elegant place just to celebrate. People say that it is the time to give thanks to their loyal employees in serving their company. Small company usually celebrate their party inside office and inviting some clients over to have dinner and small talks. Have you ever thought of what is really the essence of having a Christmas party where ever you are or what group you belong? For me Christmas party was very enjoyable because we know that even in a small time that we have gathered we make people smile and place a happiness into their hearts. This is the time we show them we really care about one another and giving thanks to the people we are close to by giving gifts. In celebrating Christmas we must not forget to have peace, love, and share what we have. We can share different things such as ideas, stories, or even material things. It depends on how you want to express your lov
