Honesty is the most important ingredient in Love

Honesty is telling “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” Society’s definition of the truth telling is to tell the truth only if it does not make anyone uncomfortable, cause a conflict, and it makes you look good. Dishonesty caused me to feel disconnected from others and created small walls between my partner and me. If I wanted to create true intimacy and closeness, I was going to have to let my partner see all of me. This anger, hurt, or decision was all of me. It is not all of me what he wanted and left the relationship. Then, what kind of relationship would I have if he only knew part of me? Honesty can be tough but it is necessary if you want a close intimate relationship. Truth is the expression of love and is therefore always the necessary healing and loving action. Many of us we taught that telling the truth is sometimes not being kind or loving. That it can separate us from what we want most, but telling the truth only separates us from our l...

How do we express Love?

Image
We do not express our love. We thought we do but not. Love is a feeling and the expression of that feeling is separate. It’s an action. There’s a practical reason why we don’t always express our love for another. Its an issue of time. We only have twenty-four hours in a day. Time reveals the truth. It’s then that we face t he crunch: is this the person we want to spend the rest of our life with; or is this the person we never want to see again? Is this someone whom we are naturally able to love; or is this someone from another planet? What time reveals is biorhythmic compatibility. The hidden compatibility that’s built into our physiology. You cannot see it, sense it, smell it, or feel it. However, it is there all right. A partner-selection through our biorhythms is performing a far more profound type. If the expression of love was a core ingredient to love, we would have to be stingy with whom we loved, because there simply wouldn’t be enough time to love everyone. I...

If I knew

If I knew, it would be the last time that I would see you fall asleep;  I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.  If I knew, it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door  I would give you a hug, kiss, and call you back for one more.  If I knew, it would be the last time I would hear your voice lifted up in praise I would video tape each action and word, so I could play then back day after day. If I knew, it would be the last time  I could spare on extra minute to step and say, “I love you”, instead of assuming, you  would know I do. If I knew, it would be the last time I would be there to share your day; well I am sure you will have so many more, so I can  let just slip this one away. For surely there’s always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything just right. There will always be another day to say, “I love you”, and certainly, th...

Love makes us…

Image
Love creates feeling of unity. We feel toward others as we feel towards ourselves. We are as interested in their welfare, happiness, success, health and spiritual growth as much as we are about over own. Loving others means wanting them to be happy in whatever ways, they are guide to their happiness. It breeds understanding, compassion, forgiveness, happiness, excitement, peace, joy, and fulfillment and desires to be helpful in any way we can.  Love is expansion beyond our ego limitations. It is the ability to identify with the other, to let go of our self-interest and personal needs enough to really hear and understand the other’s need and interests. It means caring enough to sacrifice, when necessary, our own pleasures and desires when the other’s needs are obviously more important.  Love is the force that brings about unity and harmony. It is the “glue” of the universe. It helps person with different egos, desires, programming and needs to overcome all tho...

Ingredients of Love

What do you feel when you love someone? If distilled down to its core components, what would those be? Yes, love is an emotion, a feeling, a wanting, and a “being”. We know all that and we know that it feels great to be love and to love. But what specific feelings, wanting or beings are present when we feel love? Here are some ingredients for you to know: Love is accepting Acceptance is labeling someone as “okay” and having no particular desire to change him or her. Who they are is perfectly fine with you. Everything is okay for you. His/Her attitude, the way he/she wear or choose his/her clothes, the way he/she speak, etc. You do not like him/her to change, because that is what you want in the first place. You pass no condition on whether you will love them or not. It is call the unconditional love. When your love is conditional, the moment they step outside your set of conditions, love evaporates. Love is appreciating Appreciation is one-step beyond acceptance. It ...

Listening For Love

There are times when we are timid and shy about expressing the love we feel, for fear of embarrassing the other person or ourselves, we hesitate to say the actual words “I love you.” So we try to communicate the idea in other words. We say, “take care” or “Don’t drive too fast” or maybe “be good”. However, really, there are just other ways of saying “I love you”. As you are important to me, I care what happens to you, I do not want you to get hurt. We are sometimes very strange people. The only thing we want to say, and the one thing we should say, is the thing we do not say. Yet, because the feeling is so real, and the need to say it is so strong, we are drive to use other words and signs to say what we really mean. In addition, many times, the meaning never be communicated at all, and the other person is left feeling unloved and unwanted. Therefore, we have to listen for love in the words that people are saying to us. Sometimes the explicit words are necessary, but more often. The m...

Lost Love

Image
You never realize how much you love someone until they’re gone. You never realize that… yes… once their love surrounded you, but now… what do you have? Memories… Why does love hurt so much, when it’s supposed to be such a good thing? Why do we dwell on the past, when the future is what matters? It’s something that…yeah… I guess it can’t helped, but maybe it’s harder for you than it is for someone else. Faint smells of cologne, a song on the radio, movie, single word, etc these things can bring back those memories. But, you can’t hide from these things because they’re there and no matter how hard you try to, they’ll always be there. Even when you have moved on to the future, and those things don’t trigger the memories as much as before, they still do. You can’t forget someone that you’ve loved. You may want to, but you can’t. Love cannot be forgotten no matter how hard we try, and how much we think it’ll ease the pain. It will always be there, forever. There are people who co...

Love and Infatuation

Image
It feels good when we are in-love. Everyone falls in love. However, others feel infatuated only and they think that they are in-love.  Infatuation and Love, both, typically begin with attraction.  They both give the feeling of excitement and happiness.  They both leave you desiring more.  Everyone is looking for love, but we do not know what love we all want and need? What does real love look like? How will we know when we have found it? Some think of “being in love” as an unexplainable feeling that we “fall in and out of”. Love often means different things to different people. Depending on who is doing the talking? Love can mean a feeling that may not last; a euphemism for a sexual relationship; self-sacrificing action on behalf of others; acceptance without criticism; being more honest than nice; having someone to talk with; etc… There are some feelings we have when we are infatuated and we do not feel it when we are in love. If you are infatuated you ...

Being without you

When will I see myself laugh because I really love too Not because I just want to show you that I'm happy without you When will I see the confident in my eyes That I'm doing the right decision When will I see myself that I'm contended on what I have And doesn't look back with full of regrets When will I see myself proud Of what I can do more than anyone thinks of When will I see myself accepting who I really was That I can't be the one that I'm dreaming of When will I see myself do my best to fight everything that is coming That hiding is not the best solution for what I already know is happening

It's easy to pretend

Pretending is so easy. We can pretend to be okay even though where not. That we understand, but we don't. Acting like busy, but in reality your lonely. Convincing people that you want to be friends, but what you really want is more than friends. When you know that he has somebody new, you act like it doesn't hurt, when it really hurts so bad inside. When you say you've moved on, but the truth is your still waiting. When you say it's over, but you know you still love him.

Love…

Image
Love is a very difficult word to define, perhaps because its reality approaches spiritual dimensions, which are beyond time and space, and thus, our comprehension. Love remains an unknown phenomenon and it should be one of the most known, because love is the food of the soul. Love is perhaps more easily described by what it is not. Hate, embarrassment, confusion, jealousy, fear, pain, bitterness, separateness, lust, attachment, aggressiveness, ego-centeredness, indifference, possessiveness, suppression, etc. Love, like God, peace and other spiritual realities, can be perceived more easily through the effects that it creates. We cannot see the wind, but we can see its affects. Such as the leaves moving, branches swaying, or the sound of air rushing. We know wind exist by its various sole effects. We know there is a creator because we perceive its effect creation itself. The emotion of love is the same regardless of who you feel it for. You want them to be happy, you a...

Maintaining a Friendship in a Relationship

Image
You are so much in love with your companion, but are the two of you are friends? Now that you have fallen in love with that person, has it made you lose the friendship you might have had at very beginning of the relationship? If you find yourself not treating them as a friend and only as a lover, you might need to develop a friendship with your partner again. Some of the most wonderful relationship is the ones that the two people are still friends, as well as lovers. How do you keep the friendship in your relationship, now that you have crossed that line to become lovers? Once you fall in love with someone you tend to start acting differently towards them and that is how you lose the friendship. We should not start acting differently with our partners. Then way that you communicated with each other in the very beginning is the same way you should continue communicating as the relationship develops. In the beginning you talked to each other like friends do when they are getting to...

Reality of Love

Why does it comes to our life that sometimes we must think twice?  Maybe we are afraid that we might pick the wrong decision and regret it for the rest of your life.  Have you ever felt that you have been so stupid over someone and yet we call it crazy? And never thought how stupid we become until we felt that we’ve been hurt. Why after all the bad things you’ve been through to someone and it hurt you as if no one else did, still do you say… “I still love him”, stupid right? Sometimes we was confused if will ever listen to what’s going on our mind or from the feelings we have in our heart. They say that love conquers all… Yeah right!!! Sometimes you feel that they love you, but they have another love of their life. And sometimes you fell for your friend, you feel that you’re deeply in love with each other but you’re too afraid to let it show because you fear of rejection? If you love someone, show him or her and say so. Sometimes there was a situation that...

Romantic Love

Romantic Love is a relationship where you have deep feeling of connection to another person. You accept them as they are, want them to feel good, and deeply appreciate who they are. They fit in with most of your preferences in a life partner. Like for example the personality, life, goals, beliefs and value system, etc. One of the ways you desire to express your love for them through your sexuality. Sex is one key element that distinguishes a romantic relationship from all other types.  Romantic Love is the love that man and woman “in love” share. It includes our sexuality experiences, but it is not all about sexuality. It is very possible to have sexual relationship in whish there is really no authentic love of any kind… Sex can be just a physical act of pleasure; it depends on how you feel it. Romantic love is all about the possibility of having an intimate relationship in which all facts of a person’s being are unite with another, by emotion, spiritual and physical....

Stages of Love

Love in the heart was not meant there to stay. Love is not loved till you give it away. For love to be everlasting and eternal, everyone should be aware of different stages of love and know its significance. Following are the different stages which you will travel in your love life and only those who pass it will have an endless love.  Attraction Attraction can be defined as something, which is more than friendship and is a step towards getting ready for a relationship. It has two types: the physical and emotional attraction. The physical attraction happens when your body reacts to another person. Heart rate increases; temperature rises, palms get sweaty; stomach flutters; throat tightens; etc. This is what will tell you that you are ready for the first contact and also whether you are comfortable in the company of the other person. While the emotional attraction, develops next if the circumstances are right. After being drawn to a person physically, you then be...

Maybe

Maybe God wanted us to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. Maybe when the door of the happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don’t see the one which has been opened for us. Maybe the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had. Maybe it is true that we don’t know what we have got until we lose it, but it is also true that we don’t know what we have been missing until it arrives. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Don’t except love in return, just wait for it to grow in their heart, but if it does not be content it grew in yours.  It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, b...

Why does love exist?

Love is such a diffuse “feeling”, and it can become so intensive, that it must have his “natural” and important reason, maybe in the survival of the human race. What is the primary effect of it, when the strategy of approaching is successful and it allows the lover to reach his target? It is the formation of a new relationship. We could say that love exists with the target of increasing the chance of new sexual contacts and in this way the survival of the human race. On other hand, it is all so easy. Does love exist only to spread our genes? It is unlikely, because love is theoretically not necessary for a sexual relationship. Moreover, love tends to reduce the number of sexual relationship and romance, because it favors a stable love affair. In addition, not all love’s relationships end with a child.  It is unlikely that the primary function of love is reproduction, even if this can be a secondary possible consequence. To understand better why love plays an important ro...

Let reason take break

"Your heart says go, but your head says no..." Yet another cliche', but it does seem to hit a nerve, doesn't it? At one point or another, we have had to deal with this internal conflict whether or not in the context of romantic love. In our society, the cliche' about heart and mind going in "different directions" is, in fact, pertinent, given all the unwritten, but well understood, rules and restrictions that we've come to embrace, consciously or otherwise. Here are some of the most common "unwritten rules" that make falling in love just a little more complicated. NOT "UP TO PAR" People-watching has become a common Filipino pastime. Subconsciously, we have formed clear mental pictures of the different classes of people. Being pintaseros and pintaseras, we tend to judge by looks, surname, school, social circles, family background, or even the way others speak English. We have become so judgmental that we can look at a cer...

Blind Date Rules of Engagement by Faye Bambalan

It would be nice if people would just meet and fall in love. But these days, life requires a more pro-active stance. With Valentines Day just around the corner and couples all around you, why sit around waiting for the perfect guy when you actually take action? I am talking about going on a blind date. For some people, doing the blind date circuit is the best way to get over a heartache or to simply announce that they are free and single. Others view it as a way to actually find the one. The more practical among us, also known as freeloaders, see it as a chance for a free meal. What ever your reasons, a blind date is always an experience, even if sometimes its a nightmare. Now most people would find the idea of going out with a perfect stranger daunting, or appalling. But the mechanics of the game are simple. A few rules are so obvious they could have been taught in high school values class. Not all of them are application or applicable to every situation though. I went through ye...
