Mary, the Mother of God One day, God sent Angel Gabriel to a town of Galilee called Nazareth . he was sent to a lady named Mary. The angel said "Hail Mary full of grace! The Lord is with you." The Bible is the written Word of God which tells us the right way to live. The books of the Bible are carefully arranged according to topic. The Bible has two parts, namely: The Old Testament - contains God's teachings before Jesus was born. It contains the stories about the creation of the world and the early history of men. The Psalms are also included in this part of the Bible The New Testament - contains the Good News. It tells about Jesus, from his birth until His death and resurrection. It contains stories about Jesus' miracles and His works. The Gospels in the New Testaments were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It also tell about the act of the Apostles; the Letters of Paul and other letters; the Book of Revelation;  and the early Christians.  These are the books in which Jesus' apostles and evangelists wrote about what they had seen and learned from Him. Saints are people who love God very much. During their life on earth, they obeyed the teachings of Jesus. They shared their time, talents, food, and other things with other people. They sacrificed for the sake of love for God. The saints are now happy with God in heaven. We honor the saints because they followed the teaching of Jesus. They loved and offered their lives to the poor and the needy. They preached the Good News.  Their lives are good examples for us. In our Church we have a special day to honor our saints. This special day is on November 1, every year. HOW DO WE HONOUR SAINTS? We try to be good and kind like them We pray to the saints to pray to God for us We observe All Saint's Day. The Mysteries of Light is also known as the  Luminous Mysteries. This mysteries is usually prayed every Thursday. I. The Holy Rosary is a very special prayer and a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.. Rosary  means rose-bush or bouquet/crown of roses. It tells us about Mary's life and life of Jesus. Every bead of the rosary we pray is a rose flowered offered to Blessed Virgin Mary. Every time we pray the rosary, we pray for peace. We also hope for what is good for our fellowmen and country. The Sacrament of Reconciliation or Sacrament of Penance This Sacrament is our way of saying "sorry" to God for the sins we have committed. The Holy Mass is an invitation for us to celebrate a great feast. Jesus is inviting us to celebrate the Holy Mass with Him because we are His beloved friends. Jesus Himself is present in the Holy Mass in the person of the priest. We are so happy that we are invited by Jesus to this great celebration. We respond with a "Yes" to the invitation and participate in the celebration. We join in all the activities during the Holy Mass. We also behave properly while the Holy Mass is going on. Baptism is the first Sacrament of Initiation into the Church. In Baptism, we become special children of God. As Christians and children of God, we are called to live a new life, a life free of sins. We are called to live a life like that of Jesus. Jesus is loving, kind, and helpful, so must we also. Just like Jesus, we also forgive those who have hurt us and love even our enemies. When we were baptized, our parents and godparents made promises for us. They, in our behalf, expressed our faith in God. They promised to do away with evil. The many symbols and rituals during Baptism will make us fully understand and appreciate the importance of the Sacrament of Baptism. Just like every one of us, Jesus belongs to a family. His foster father is Joseph and His mother is Mary. Their family is known as the Holy family. They lived in Nazareth. The Holy family is the model of unity, understanding, love and respect. Joseph was a carpenter. He was responsible father. He took care of his family. He supported and protected his family. He was always with his family. Mary was a very simple and humble woman. She was God-loving, God-fearing, and very obedient to God. She was a very good wife to Joseph. She was a very loving mother to Jesus. She took care of Joseph and Jesus. Jesus was a very obedient son. He obeyed what His parents told Him to do. He was also a helpful son. He helped His parents in the house. He loved His mother and father very much.  Jesus teaches us how to be good members of our family. He teaches us to be obedient to our parents. He teaches us to love and respect everyone in the family.
