How to choose a right name for your Baby?

There many ways to name your baby.

CHOOSING THE PERFECT NAME

  1. Easy to pronounce and easily spell. Remember that your child will have this name for their whole life, and this is your first gift to your child.
  2. Make sure that you and your spouse will love the name that you will give. Try saying your child's name over and over to see if you'll get tired of hearing it. As a parent, you'll be saying it a lot.
  3. Knowing the Gender of your baby. Avoid naming a child with opposite gender. Your son may note be happy to be presumed to be a girl on the first day of preschool. Some names are neutral in gender, such as Chris, Tin. On the other it may sound masculine but can be spelled in a feminine manner such as Toni, Bobby, Joe. Names such as these have their own problems as well as advantages.
  4. Short and Singular. Short names go better with long last names and vice versa. A long name with a long surname will look and sound odd.
  5. Think of how it might be shortened. Doesn't form monikers or initials that might be made fun of or something embarrassing and inappropriate to your child like P.O.O. or R.I.P
THINGS TO REMEMBER
  1. If you are expecting multiple baby, see if the names sound good with each other, because you are going to say them a lot together. Don't make it too similar, such as Alexander and Alexandra; John and Jon; Judy and Julie.
  2. Don't just give your child initials for a name. He or she will constantly have to explain that "A.J." doesn't actually stand for anything.
  3. Don't put some expectations on your child because of the name you give them. If you name your child after your grandparent, realize he may not be anything like Grandpa.
