- Use oil-free or water based face products
- Keep your face free of dirt with a mild cleanser

| Skin Discoloration |
- Use sunblock with an SPF of 15 or more
- Take a vitamin supplement with folate
|
| Brittle Hair and Nails |
- Avoid chemical treatments
- Keep your hair and nails well-trimmed or short
|
| Heartburn and Indigestion |
- Avoid clothing that is tight on the waist or abdomen
- Eat small, frequent meals
- Stay upright for several hours after each meal
- Sleep with your head elevated or lie down on your left side when sleeping or taking a nap

| Backache |
- Avoid wearing high heels
- Learn proper way of lifting objects or bearing weights
- Avoid standing or staying in one position for long periods of time
- Keep a good posture
- Sleep on a firm yet comfortable mattress

| Leg Cramps |
- Do stretching exercises by flexing and straightening your legs alternately
|
| Rectal Bleeding and Hemorrhoids |
- Avoid spicy foods and eat a high-fiber diet to avoid constipation
- The best way to prevent hemorrhoids is to avoid sitting for long periods of time, and try not strain when using the restroom.
- Have your doctor check your rectal problems, never self-diagnose nor self medicate

| Itchy Abdomen |
- Avoid scratching, it may irritate the skin more
- Lubricating creams may help (check with your doctor first)
|
| Headaches |
- Eat regularly and get enough rest
- Seek a quiet place for you to relax
- Persistent headaches with blurring of vision should be referred to a doctor
|
| Increasing Fatigue |
- Make rest and relaxation a priority
- Check with your doctor if fatigue persists even with ample rest
|
| Edema (Swollen ankles and feet) |
- Avoid extended periods of standing
- Elevate your legs or lie down to relieve the swelling
- Wear comfortable footwear
- If edema worsens or involves the upper extremities and face, consult your doctor

| Dental Problems |
- Follow a daily, strict dental hygiene regimen
- Have your teeth checked early in the pregnancy to check for beginning infections or problems
|
| Vaginal Discharge |
- You may wear unscented panty liners for heavy discharge; avoid tampons
- A thin, milky, non-foul smelling discharge is normal; however, any changes in your discharge's character should be checked by your OB
|
| Constipation and Bloating |
- Take high-fiber foods and plenty of fluids
- Avoid holding in your bowel movements.
